Firing #12 Stoker Gallery

The kiln is closed down and cooling after a relatively smooth firing.
We had a fantastic firing crew, and a great party on Saturday night.
Thanks to all who joined us.
We'll unload on Tuesday, then it's on to Clay in May next weekend!

Here is your April 2012 Firing Crew:

Sangeet from Karma Neutral Ceramics in Chicago spent the weekend with us,
stoking, grilling, and keeping us in good cheer!

Mr. Joe Cole, who would never brag about his kiln-firing skills,
pulled us back from the brink of wind-induced disaster in both the second and third
chambers with a combination of his knowledge and intuition.

We celebrated the return of Don Hammon, whose assistance included dominating
the second chamber side-stoking and helping to determine if the cones in the
third chamber were at pre-soft, hopeful soft, or pondering quarter.

Chuck joined us for one last firing before he heads off to graduate school in Texas.
He rocked the first night shift!

Yours truly, who took a break from firing and headed into Madison early
Sunday morning to do a TV interview for Clay in May:
